The North Shore Animal League is working to help the veteran at the center of an alleged FBI investigation into Rep. George Santos get a new dog.
A spokesperson for the Port Washington animal shelter tells News 12 they are in the process of finding a new dog for Richard Osthoff.
The military veteran from New Jersey claims Rep. Santos raised thousands of dollars for his dying dog but never turned over the money.
Osthoff said during an interview Thursday evening that he was contacted by the FBI to explain the allegations and turn over evidence.
Santos claimed Thursday that he has never met Osthoff and has no knowledge of an FBI investigation.
