A dog groomer in South Jersey was charged in the death of a beloved family pet.

Trevor Hunt, the owner of K9 Kingdom in Woodbury Heights, was charged with cruelty for the death of a 3-year-old dog named Harley, according to police.

After a call from Harley’s owner, Woodbury police said they launched an investigation. They say a search of the business uncovered a heroine stash.

Now, animal cruelty charges are tacked on to Hunt's drug and resisting arrest charges.

The cause of Harley’s death remains under investigation.
