An 18-year-old was arrested Sunday for allegedly posting a threatening message against a West Caldwell high school on social media.
West Caldwell Mayor Joe Tempesta told News 12 the suspect went to police headquarters with his mother.
The online post caused an abrupt stop to a day of music performances at James Caldwell High School Saturday.
Police were alerted to the post by the former student, who allegedly had a gun, and the school was put on lockdown.
The students in attendance for the concerts were instructed to hide in different classrooms until an all-clear was given.
The threats proved to be false and the kids were able to go home.
