Thursday’s snowstorm is expected to impact traveling around New Jersey.
Parts of New Jersey could see up to a foot of snow. A blizzard warning is in effect for areas in the state due to expected strong gusts of winds. These conditions could reduce visibility on the roadways.
A spokesperson for
New Jersey Transit says that the agency is expected to operate on a regular weekday schedule for as long as it is able. But system wide cross-honoring will be in effect on NJ Transit and private carrier buses, rail and light-rail service in order to provide additional travel options for commuters.
Amtrak says that the company will operate on a modified schedule between New York and Boston. Information about travel schedules can be found on the Amtrak website.
Many flights have already been canceled ahead of the storm. Travelers are advised to check with their flight carriers to monitor flight status. Travels should also factor in extra time to get to the airport due to the inclement weather.
