A spinning gondola ride at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson Township abruptly stopped spinning over the weekend, leaving 32 passengers trapped up in the air.
According to NJ.com, the SkyScreamer ride is supposed to spin passengers around at about 40 miles an hour.
But on Sunday afternoon, safety sensors applied an emergency stop mid-ride.
According to a park spokeswoman, passengers were stuck in the air for about 15 minutes before park officials got them back on the ground.
The ride remained closed Monday as inspectors checked it.
The ride first opened back in 2012.
