Six Flags Great Adventure is throwing out its old playbook for this year's winter season, completely overhauling its popular "Holiday in the Park" event with four distinct, immersive worlds and a distinct Jersey Shore twist.
The reimagined celebration opens to the general public on Saturday, November 21, with an exclusive preview night for season passholders scheduled for Friday, November 20. Park officials say the traditional holiday event has been rebuilt from the ground up to offer entirely fresh sights, sounds, and experiences.
Guests walking through the front gates will enter the "Glittering Gateway," anchored by a 65-foot choreographed Christmas tree. The opening zone features synchronized light displays, nightly tree-lighting spectacles, and a "Glistening Snow Show" that brings falling snow and festive music to the mid-Atlantic park.
Further into the grounds, families can wander through "Santa's Arctic North Pole" for fireside s'mores and visits with St. Nick, or head over to the newly transformed Shoreline Pier for "Coastal Christmas," a zone featuring sparkling palm trees and coastal-inspired holiday décor tailored specifically to a New Jersey aesthetic. Meanwhile, a candy-themed zone dubbed "Sweet Street" brings a playful, colorful vibe to the lineup alongside a silent disco.
Beyond the themed areas, the park has packed the schedule with live stage productions like Holiday Road: LIVE on Tour!, roaming carolers, and interactive mirror mazes. A selection of thrill rides will also remain open, giving visitors a chance to view the millions of twinkling lights from high above the midway.
The rollout comes as the park promotes its 2027 season passes, which grant immediate entry to the holiday preview night as well as access next year when the park debuts its new spinning launch coaster, Bakunawa. Full details and operating schedules are available on the Six Flags website.
