Three officers from Sing Sing Correction Facility were taken to the hospital after a reported altercation with an inmate.

The Correctional Officers Benevolent Association says that on Monday an inmate had attacked one female officer when another female officer, and her male colleague, jumped in to rescue her.

The suspect is accused of causing injuries to their eyes, face, arms and legs during the struggle.

The trio of officers were transported to Phelps Hospital for treatment and did not return to duty.
