New Jerseyans were encouraged to visit local stores to support Small Business Saturday as the holiday shopping season gets underway.
At Scotti's Record Shop in Summit, business was cranking. And at Wool and Grace, local families were stopping by to browse.
Donna Puzella, owner of Sweet Nothings, says her shop likes to give back every year by offering sweetness and holiday cheer.
"We really believe in customer service, so I think that's something special here that you won't find at big box stores and you most certainly won't find online," she says.
Summit started a new initiative this year called the Shop Summit passport program. Particpiants who get their passports stamped at eight participaints businesses are entered for a chance to win one of three grand prizes.
