Several dozen dogs and cats that were in Texas animal shelters have arrived in New Jersey for adoption.
The animals were in shelters that either had no power or water after severe winter storms affected Texas last week. The charity group Wings of Rescue flew the animals to New Jersey for safety.

“We’re really excited to be able to help them. The shelters have been working so hard to keep the animals safe and to assist the community,” says Way Station program director Colleen Harrington. “So, getting all these animals transported to New Jersey – they’ll get adopted really quickly here. And it also lightens the burden for them to be able to assist their community and other shelters in the regions. “
The dogs and cats will soon be available for adoption at Saint Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison.
