Cleanup of Thursday's severe weather continues as thousands remain without power.
There were reports of tree branches falling without warning as a result of the weather. There are also approximately 5,000 power outages across the state. Officials say the ice that formed on trees and branches caused some of the downed power lines.
The downed trees also forced some roads to close.
The heavy precipitation caused flooding on some major streets and highways in Newark. As a result, drivers were urged during the day to allow extra time to get to their destinations and to drive slowly.
