11h agoSeveral schools in the city of East Orange were put into lockdown on Monday after reports of gunfire nearby.
City officials say they received reports of at least four gunshots near the schools just after 12 p.m.
The Hart Middle School Complex on Hamilton Street and nearby East Orange Campus High School and Wahlstrom Academy on Prospect Street went into lockdown as a precaution.
No arrests have been made.
It was not clear if anyone was hurt or if the schools would be opened on Tuesday.
