Sen. Cory Booker has introduced a bipartisan bill that will help the families of first responders who died from COVID-19.
The Safeguarding America’s First Responders Act will ensure that families of officers and first responders who die while fighting the pandemic won’t face unnecessary barriers to getting benefits.
Thirteen other senators, including Sen. Bob Menendez, are behind the bill.
Booker spoke with News 12’s Kurt Siegelin on Tuesday about what the bill entails.
