Security is being stepped up at Newark Liberty International Airport after recent terror scares in London, England and Glasgow, Scotland.
Newark passengers experienced random vehicle checks and long lines ahead of their holiday travel. Some said they were disappointed at the lack of security presence at the airport terminal.
New Jersey Transit also confirmed security is heightened on light rail and transit trains and buses.
British police are continuing to investigate the discovery of two car bombs in central London Friday. On Saturday, two men drove a flaming SUV into the terminal building of Glasgow International Airport. Five arrests have been made in connection to the events.
The terror threat level for the United States has not been raised, but the White House is boosting security efforts at airports nationwide.
