Two seal pups were rescued on the Jersey Shore this weekend.
One pup was found on Brigantine Beach. The
Marine Mammal Stranding Center says he is only 2-3 weeks old and hasn’t been eating on his own. He will stay at their facilities until he becomes successful at feeding himself.
Another seal pup was found in Beach Haven tangled in plastic that came from a case of bottled water. She is now also being taken care of. The animal rescue center says she is thin and tired.
It's the season for the annual grey seal pup migration. Officials say if you see a seal pup that looks like they may need help, call local authorities.
