Woman shot on Linden sidewalk now in stable condition

Officials say that officers found the woman out on the sidewalk on Monday morning on Carnegie Street near Monmouth Avenue.

A woman who was critically injured in a daytime shooting in Linden earlier this week is improving in the hospital, according to officials.

The victim, whose name has not been released, is now in stable condition, according to the Linden Police Department.

Officials say that officers found the woman out on the sidewalk on Monday morning on Carnegie Street near Monmouth Avenue. She was shot.

They say that the person who allegedly shot her barricaded himself in a nearby home and then fatally shot himself inside.

The connection between the victim and the alleged shooter was not officially made clear. But neighbors told News 12 that they believed it was a domestic situation.

The name of the alleged shooter was not released.
