The future of a Scotch Plains gym is uncertain after flood waters damaged the business earlier this week.

Pretty Beast Mode Fitness and Nutrition saw nearly 6 feet of water in the basement and 6 inches on their first floor. Owner Vernecia Adams says she was supposed to have clients on Monday when the storm happened but told them not to come because conditions were getting worse.

When she looked on her security cameras, she says she saw the water pouring into the heart of her gym.

"This is like my third baby, so this has been a very difficult process, because I literally built this place from the ground up," Adams said.

This wasn't the first time her business was flooded. It first happened during Hurricane Ida, but she says it was just not as bad.

Adams says she's spent the past four days cleaning and drying out the place, but is unsure if she will be able to reopen.

Getting the structure checked out is the next thing on her to do list.

She says the answer to that question will determine the future of her businesses.
