There could soon be a new way to travel around Hoboken – scooters.
Hoboken officials are in talks with scooter-sharing company Lime about bringing the program to the city.
Users would be able to download an app and then have access to motorized scooters to travel around.
"This is a scooter-sharing program. What that means is you can access it in a way that's super affordable,” says Lime general manager Gil Kazimirov. “You pay $1 to unlock and 15 cents a minute after that. Most trips are below 15 minutes so you end up paying $2-$3 dollars per trip."
City officials were given a demonstration of the scooters Monday at Hoboken’s Pier 13.
