Seven confirmed cases of swine flu in New Jersey have health officials on high alert, but they also have those in child-related fields worried as well.
The Red Apple Country Day School in Bayville says although no reports of swine flu are in Ocean County, it isn't taking chances - it's stressing prevention.
"We monitor this almost constantly," says Fred Reck, a co-owner of the school. "Whenever the kids are out in the yard we naturally send them in to wash their hands."
The school says it lets parents know if something similar to strep throat or any illness considered contagious is going around the school.
New Jersey health officials say the confirmed cases of swine flu include three from Burlington County, a 43-year-old Monmouth County woman and a 22-year-old woman from Bergen County. The confirmed cases in Burlington County all come from one family, and includes two school-aged children. None of the cases have resulted in hospitalization.
