School officials to replace accidentally cut trees
School officials in Bergen County say they will replace 10 trees that were accidentally cut down at an elementary school.
Harrington Park school officials say that one of the trees accidentally uprooted was planted as a memorial to a 9/11 victim from the town. The nine other trees were supposed to be trimmed by Dockland Electric but were instead cut.
Superintendent Adam Fried says the memorial tree was accidentally removed by a company hired to create new parking spaces at the school.
Officials will replace the trees and add fencing to maintain a buffer between the school and a neighboring home. A new 9/11 memorial plaque and tree will also be rededicated.
