A sailboat that crashed into a jetty in Manasquan Wednesday afternoon was successfully removed from the ocean Thursday.
Crews arrived early Thursday morning to begin the removal process. They had to wait for high tide when the water was deep enough.
A crew member even had to dive underwater to help secure the towlines.
A tugboat and heavy equipment were used to pull the boat to shore. Once it was removed from the ocean, it was destroyed using a backhoe.
Officials say that the boat's captain may have suffered from a heat stroke prior to the crash. He was treated for a head injury, but will be OK.
