Rutgers University is urging students to avoid any fraternity or sorority that does not have university recognition after winter break.
The message was shared through an Instagram post and comes after a student was seriously hurt in a hazing incident involving members of Alpha Sigma Phi in October.
Since the hazing, all members have been evicted from the house on College Avenue in New Brunswick and the chapter has been disbanded.
The university says students can view the list of recognized chapters on its Greek life website.
