(AP) - Rutgers University is planning tospend $500 million over the next three years to expand and upgradefacilities on its campuses. The plan includes more than 20 projects and is being financedmostly through sale of bonds. Among the projects are a $25 million Institute for HealthSciences in New Brunswick, $12 million for renovations to therecreation center in Camden, $55 million for a research center onthe Busch Campus in Piscataway and an $18 million expansion of theLivingston Campus Student Center. Also included are $60 million for deferred maintenance and $15million for classroom upgrades. Rutgers President Richard L. McCormick says the spending willbenefit the state's economy and will create an estimated 5,000jobs.
