Ruling expected in McGreevey divorce case

(AP) - The divorce of New Jersey's gay ex-governoris about to become final. Word went out Thursday that Union County Superior Court JudgeKaren Cassidy would issue a ruling in the case Friday afternoon. Former Gov. Jim McGreevey is hoping to get unhitched withoutpaying alimony to Dina Matos. She's asked the judge to award her$2,500 a month for four years, plus $1,750 in monthly childsupport. The former first couple's marriage unraveled in 2004 whenMcGreevey announced he was gay and had had an affair with a man. Heresigned 13 months before his first term was to end. The McGreeveys agreed to share custody of their 6-year-old, butendured an often-embarrassing divorce trial while haggling overalimony and support.
