Looking for a fun way to beat the heat? The first of three "community cooldowns" was held Tuesday in Roselle with some help from the fire department.
Children of all ages were able to run through water during firefighters' pump and water hose drills.
“The cooldowns give kids a glimpse of how our firefighters train and prepare for an emergency," Roselle Park Fire Chief Steven Thompson said.
The next events will take place near 180 W. Webster Ave. on July 16, 23 and 30 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
