Rockaway Townsquare Mall is getting a makeover next year, designed with a more modern look.

Renovations include an updated food court and a new children's play area, as well as new floors, wall finishes, and seat areas equipped with built-in phone charging stations.

The food court will be renamed The Dining Pavilion and provide community seating tables with phone-charging stations.

The children's play area will have interactive and electronic features, including games played on screens.

The work is scheduled to begin in January and completed by next fall.

The entire mall will remain open during the renovations.
