The Rockaway School District has agreed to a settlement in the case of a 12-year-old student who died by suicide in 2017.

Mallory Grossman was a sixth grade student at Copeland Middle School. Her family says that she was bullied online by other students. Her parents say she took her own life after the school district ignored their efforts to stop the bullying.

The district settled with the Grossman family for $9.1 million – the largest settlement in any New Jersey bullying case.
