The popular online game Roblox is now implementing new safety restrictions for children under 13.
Parents will now have access to parental controls from their own devices and will be able to monitor their child’s screen time. Prior parental controls could only be accessed from their child’s device.
Roblox has also adjusted its built-in limits for communication via chat. New content labels and additional protections will also be added.
Creators say these changes were developed and implemented after multiple rounds of internal research, which included surveys of parents and children and consultations with experts from child safety and media literacy organizations.
