Ridgewood High School approves later start time for students

Students will get to sleep in a little later at Ridgewood High School after concerns were raised that teenagers aren't getting enough sleep.

A recent Fairleigh Dickinson University poll found most people support later start times for schools.
One school district in Bergen County is concerned that teenagers aren't getting enough sleep, so it's pushing to start high school classes later.
The school board for Ridgewood High School approved the change of a later start time to start this fall. Students would start class at 8:20 a.m. – that is 35 minutes later than the current start time.
