Rev. Al Sharpton was joined by the family of Eric Garner and Akai Gurley in Brooklyn Monday to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
A group of National Action Network members brought wreaths to the site of two slain NYPD police officers who were killed at Myrtle and Tompkins avenues. The caravan of observers also visited the Pink Houses where Gurley was accidentally shot and killed by a police officer in November.
The group also went to the site of where Eric Garner was killed when a police officer applied a chokehold during his arrest.
"This is the agenda we planned today to give tribute to the two officers that were slain, but also, and most importantly, to let the people know that Martin Luther King's dream has not been fulfilled," said NAN member Theodora X Turner-Kenny.
