The Rev. Michael Gerald says he is now endorsing Westchester County Executive George Latimer for Congress and will actively campaign for him in New York's 16th Congressional District.
Gerald, a criminal justice counselor from Tuckahoe, paused his campaign last October. He believes Latimer would be a strong candidate, particularly in light of recent events involving the Hamas attacks on Israel. The 16th Congressional District is home to a significant Jewish community.
Gerald’s decision coincides with the finalization of congressional district lines in New York.
Latimer is challenging incumbent Rep. Jamaal Bowman in the contest. Michael Dolan is also seeking the nomination.
