Mayor Andre Sayegh says that residents should continue to conserve water as the system works its way back to normal.
A boil water advisory remains in effect.
“The lines are still being pressurized, and water remains non-potable,” Sayegh wrote in a Facebook post.

Parts of nearby Haledon, North Haledon and Prospect Park remain without water. Sayegh says these areas are in the higher elevations and water has not yet reached them.
“Crews are working around the clock to install a 30-inch pipe that will connect the bottom to the top of the system. This will take about 3–4 days, with the goal of near-full restoration by the end of the weekend. Until then, pressure may fluctuate,” Sayegh wrote.
The Passaic Valley Water Commission says that the main that broke last week was 140 years old.
“This was a catastrophic, complex water main break…We’re seeing progress, but we’re not declaring victory yet,” Sayegh wrote.
