Fire officials say flames tore through a family's home in Union Township Thursday morning.
Leo Morrada, the homeowner, says a neighboring family saved his family from the fire. Firefighters say the Hopkins family, who also lives on Clermont Terrace, saw smoke pouring out of the house, called 911 and rushed over with a ladder to help the Morradas out.
Morrada says the house suffered thousands of dollars of damage, but he is happy no one was hurt or killed. Firefighters were even able to rescue the family's dog.
Repairs to the house will take several months.
