A new project that will ease traffic and improve safety along the Observer Highway in Hoboken may cause some short-term inconveniences.
The project, which will synchronize traffic lights and add left turn lanes, will begin Monday.
Some residents say they are unhappy because the project will be loud and create traffic.
Pedro Texidor said he sees some potential supply issues at his coffee company. He says that his 18-wheelers won't be able to come into Hoboken through Observer Highway during the construction.
Construction on the highway is expected to last from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., and will last for six months.
The city has a nearly $3 million federal grant to improve the traffic flow and safety on the highway.
The project is being managed by Hudson County.
