A boy was injured after reports say he went "rail surfing" on a New Jersey Transit train.

The incident happened Thursday around 9:15 p.m.

According to initial reports, the boy attempted to "rail surf" the southbound-headed Hudson-Bergen Light Rail by grabbing onto the outside of the vehicle as it pulled away from the station.

Reports say the boy fell off the train when it pulled away from the Danforth Avenue Station.

He sustained injuries that are not life-threatening to his leg and was transported to the hospital.

Trains bypassed the station while the investigation went on Thursday night.
