A report from United Way of Northern New Jersey is shedding light on New Jersey children living in poverty, saying even before the coronavirus pandemic – 2 in every 5 children were living in financial hardship.
According to the report, in the fall of 2021, 50% of New Jersey families below or equal to the poverty line reported that their children sometimes or often didn't have enough to eat.
Initial data suggest conditions worsened for many of the children during the COVID-19 crisis.
