A report from United Way of Northern New Jersey is
shedding light on New Jersey children living in poverty, saying even
before the coronavirus pandemic – 2 in every 5 children were living in
financial hardship.
According to the report, in the fall of 2021, 50% of
New Jersey families below or equal to the poverty line reported that their
children sometimes or often didn't have enough to eat.
Initial data suggest conditions worsened for many of
the children during the COVID-19 crisis.
