The days of cold weather are approaching, so a gym in Red Bank is reimagining its plans for customers since outdoor workouts won't be as doable.
Underground Gym has been through a lot over the last few months with trying to keep the business afloat.
"We lost big time in traffic, big time in revenue," says Sergei Karaliou, the owner of Underground Gym.
At one point, the gym offered classes at Red Bank football field, but that alternative is quickly fading. The transition to more indoor options is already in the works.
"We've been operating more than 80% indoors already," says Karaliou. "So right now, currently what we do, we do indoor training, which is in our facility."
Karaliou says the gym operates within regulations, which is about 25% capacity. He says every client must also have 200 square feet of working space.
Underground Gym also has hybrid classes, which allows for some clients to workout inside the facility alongside others who are following along virtually.
Karaliou says he still plans to hold outdoor classes during the winter when weather permits.
