Monmouth County state Sen. Joe Kyrillos (R) says he's the man who should replace Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.).
Kyrillos says "Bob Menendez made things worse, yet he wants another six years to do more of the same."
Kyrillos is an ally of Gov. Chris Christie and has a platform that sticks to popular Republican ideas, including repealing health care reform, passing a balanced budget amendment and overhauling the tax code.
Menendez's campaign issued a statement defending his record and slamming Kyrillos as a Trenton insider.
Kyrillos ran Gov. Christie's election campaign and is a former chairman of the state Republican Party. He has served in the New Jersey Senate since 1992.
