Those planning to venture out on the roads this summer season should check out the latest gas prices.
The average price of gas in New Jersey is $2.93, higher than the national average of $2.88, according to AAA – that’s about one-quarter higher than prices were just one month ago.

AAA says an increase in demand and switching to the summer fuel blend typically leads to a price increase this time of year.

Prices do vary from station to station, so shopping around can pay off.

The gas prices should continue to rise through the end of May, according to AAA.
