Passaic County prosecutors say a 6-week-old child was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center on Thursday where the child later died.

The Paterson Fire Department responded to a residence on 9th Avenue in response to a 911 call placed around 6 a.m., according to prosecutors.

There is currently no information on how the child died. Prosecutors say detectives were notified and responded to the hospital to conduct an investigation which is still active and ongoing.
