The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office has announced a man from Marlton has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and robbery after attacking an 87-year old woman.
The incident happened back in September of 2019.
According to police, the victim was hitting golf balls at Airpark in Berkeley Township when David Steen, 54, pushed her to the ground.
Police say he hit her on the head with the golf club and ripped a gold chain and a gold crucifix from her neck and fled the area.
The victim was able to return to her car and drive home. A friend of the victim then drove her to a Urgent Care facility for treatment of her injuries.
Steen was arrested in Burlington County on October of 2019 by state police during an unrelated motor vehicle stop.
