A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a car in Newark Saturday morning, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office.
It happened at the intersection of McCarter Highway and Elm Street just after 10 a.m.
The driver stayed at the scene. No charges have been filed.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
