A Mount Laurel man has been charged with first-degree murder in a 2013 cold case.
The Camden County prosecutor says that Joseph Grisoff, 59, killed Carol Reiff, 59, in June 2013.
Reiff was reported missing on June 21, 2013, after she did not show up for a scheduled family trip. Her body was found several days later in a wooded area behind an old maintenance building for Reiff’s Gloucester Township apartment complex.
Prosecutors say that Grisoff was a maintenance worker at the complex and lived near Reiff’s apartment.
Officials say that they found DNA evidence on a pair of jeans and an empty beer bottle in Reiff’s apartment, but they say that the testing did not produce conclusive results at the time.
Officials wrote in a statement that recent “DNA testing revealed the strong proposition that the victim and Grisoff were both contributors to DNA profiles obtained from the jeans and the beer bottle.”
U.S. Marshals arrested Grisoff in Moorestown Wednesday morning and charged him with the killing. He is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing.
