A man accused in a deadly shooting in Roselle’s Warinanco Park has turned himself into the authorities, according to the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
Gerald Walker, 47, is accused of killing 29-year-old Shakir Manns. Both men are from Linden, but it was not immediately clear if they knew each other.
The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. on May 19. Manns’ family told News 12 New Jersey that he was hanging out in the park with family members when he was shot.
Authorities say Walker turned himself into Elizabeth police on Friday. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder. A court appearance is scheduled for Sunday
