A Howell woman has been accused in a three-vehicle crash that killed a 3-year-old girl and injured others, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Samantha Bonora, 31, was charged with one count of first-degree aggravated manslaughter and two counts of second-degree aggravated assault. Officials say that Bonora was driving under the influence at the time of the crash.
The crash happened on the afternoon of Jan. 13 on Highway 34 in Howell Township near the Colts Neck border. Officials say Bonora was driving a Rodge Ram pickup south in the northbound lane and collided head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Another vehicle also crashed as a result.
Officials say that a 3-year-old girl in the Cherokee died at the scene. The driver of the Cherokee and a 2-year-old boy were hurt.
Bonora will appear in court on Feb. 7 to face the charges.
