Three men are facing charges related to a deadly shooting on New Year’s Day 2023 in Elizabeth.
The Union County prosecutor says the shooting happened on Fourth Street in Elizabeth early on Jan. 2, 2023. They found Vladimir Martinez dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Jofrandy Diaz-Ramirez and Albenys Soto-Fernandez – both 25 – were arrested and charged Feb. 28, 2023. Authorities then identified a third suspect – 22-year-old Yoel Sanchez – and arrested him on May 7.
The three men were each charged with first-degree murder and weapons offenses.
