BRIEFING UPDATES:

-President Trump said he has approved major disaster declarations for New York, California, Washington, Iowa, Louisiana, Texas and Florida.

-Trump announced $300 billion in cash payments will be available for all American citizens who make less than $99,000 a year. Independent contractors and people are are self-employed are eligible.

-$16 billion in funding for personal protection equipment.

-Trump said there are more than 150 countries with cases of coronavirus.

-The president said the economic stimulus package is close to passing in the Senate.

-Small business retention loans will cover roughly 50% of the private payroll in small businesses. The loans will supply eight weeks of salaries as long as workers are still employed. Loans will be forgiven, according to Steve Mnuchin, U.S. Treasury Secretary.
