A prayer vigil was held in Newark Saturday night, after three people were shot and killed on the city streets this week and three more were injured.
Community members gathered to offer prayers of peace that the violence will come to an end.
Although police say Newark shootings are down 40 percent, residents insist gun violence occurs more than it should.
Two shooting victims were found on the same street last Monday and Tuesday. A third victim was found on Wednesday. Between Thursday and Saturday, at least five more people were shot.
