A power outage left students in the dark at Auten Road Intermediate School on Thursday.

Power has since been restored, and the school has returned to its normal schedule.

During the outage, students were told to stay in their classrooms to avoid dark hallways. Additional staff escorted students with flashlights when needed.

The outage occurred as a powerful storm moved through New Jersey, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.
