A partial power outage has been reported at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport in the terminal where a false report of gunfire caused a panicked evacuation days earlier.
American Airlines operates Terminal 8. It says escalators and elevators are out of service.
The airline says screening of checked bags might be delayed. It's encouraging travelers to arrive at least two hours before departure.
There's no word on what caused the outage, which began Tuesday afternoon.
On Sunday night, a report of gunfire at the terminal led to chaos at the airport. That scare started in Terminal 8 and led to Terminal 1. Authorities are exploring the possibility loud cheering of Usain Bolt's Olympic 100-meter dash victory prompted the scare.
