A Poughkeepsie man was rescued by Arlington firefighters after falling down a steep embankment while mowing his lawn on Tuesday.
Officials said that the man was found with potentially life-threatening injuries, including a head injury, around 4 p.m. after his lawnmower rolled over not far from his home on Cardinal Road.
Rescuers called in their specially trained rope rescue technicians while first responders cared for the patient. The man was eventually lowered down the embankment and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The man's current condition is unknown.
